Useful English: 8. DISTRACT

*To make someone who is working or studying, etc., unable to continue because of a noise or disturbance.
*To make someone not notice something/someone.

My teacher told me off when I was in Junior High School for distracting other students.
One thief distracted the convenient store clerk while the other thief shoplifted 3 bottles of whiskey.
